Stand Clear of Moving Platform.
The conductor of a downtown R62A 6 train (Bombardier, 1984-1987) is looking on as their train begins to slowly depart 14th St-Union Square Station on the Lexington Avenue Line. Due to the sharp curves as the line moves from under Park Ave to under 4th Ave, the station features numerous gap fillers on the southbound local and express tracks - a feature now unique to this station. These mechanical platforms retract when the side of the train pushes against them as the train departs, and have been known to catch the heels of high-heeled shoes if customers are standing on them!
