| East Broad Top 16 is seen running it’s first official revenue trip since 1956, pulling a photo freight with a few lucky passengers riding on the caboose. The engine is also pulling the first steam-powered revenue trip on the EBT since 2011 after the railroad’s second shutdown. I have to admit that having now finally experienced this place when they were running, the hype is real & that I fully believe that the EBT will become THE railfan destination that everyone that is one must experience at least once in their life after personally experiencing the charm it has to offer. I’ve been jokingly saying that the time to come to the EBT will be in about 10 years when they get (closer) to Robertsdale & have at least 2 more steam engines running. At the rate they’re going, I may have to shorten that timeline a bit. |
