MTA Railroads. In a sight that will not occur in passenger service, MTA LIRR 9193 and 9194 (M9, Kawasaki) are on the move from the Kawasaki factory in Yonkers, New York to be interchanged to LIRR on the night of Wednesday, July 5, 2023. The cars were picked up by CSX L017-05 and are seen passing through the MTA Metro-North Railroad Yonkers Station on track 3 with signs indicating that trains here would normally take passengers to Croton Harmon and Poughkeepsie. Metro-North had an option to purchase M9s as part of the original contract, but declined it and instead invested in maintaining its existing fleet.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
