"Heritage Inspection Train Through Wassaic"
On August 16th, 2023, Metro-North ran an Inspection Train up to Wassaic, New York to give members of management the opportunity to view several ongoing and completed projects along the Harlem Line. The train consisted of 3 inspection/OCS cars led by two of the railroad's 40th Anniversary heritage-wrapped P32AC-DM's, MNCW 208 ("Beach Ball") and MNCW 201 ("Conrail"). In this image, the train is seen accelerating past the "Wassaic Project" in the small hamlet of Wassaic, New York while heading south down the Harlem Line towards Grand Central Terminal.
The Wassaic Project is an artist-run nonprofit contemporary art gallery, artist residency, and art education center located within the former Maxon Mills building in Wassaic, New York. The spaces hosts festivals, community events and year-round artist residencies.
