DENVER COL Oct 4 1982 — Rio Grande SW 1000 143 handles a cut of cars at North Yard. End built the unit (s/n 32178) in October 1966. Southern Pacific retired it on Oct. 3 1991. Utahrails reports, “D&RGW 143 was retired due to a damaged crankshaft; sold to OmniTRAX in 1995; repaired for lease to Hudson Bay Mining & Smelting, Flin Flon, Manitoba; lease not completed; sold to Camas Prairie 143, Lewiston, Idaho in April 1998.
