Trout Brook Turn. Crew members from the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum turn their Locomotive #9 on the little turntable at Trout Brook Station, assisted by a couple of passengers who have volunteered to help. Since August of 2022, with the opening of the Mountain Extension, this location, just off Route 218 near Head Tide, has been the northern terminus of the WW&F Museum's trackage. With turntables at both ends of the line, trains now run the 3.5 mile line with the locomotive facing forward in both directions. Here at Trout Brook Station, passengers are permitted to disembark and watch the locomotive being turned, and as you see here, they can actually help provide the muscle, if they want to. Shortly, Locomotive #9 will run around the train consist and couple up for the southbound run back to Sheepscot Station.
