The Rhaetian Railway turns blue/white! The "Allegra" dual-system multiple unit (ZTZ) ABe 8/12 # 3514 needed a new coat of paint. A "Heritage" livery was applied in the colors and with the matching lettering of the former Chur-Arosa Bahn (ChA), which had been taken over by the Rhaetian Railway in 1942 due to the difficult financial situation in the middle of the Second World War. On the very first day of scheduled service, # 3514 is on its way with regional train R 1644 from Tirano to St. Moritz, rounding the Montebello curve between Bernina Suot and Morteratsch. What cannot be seen here: Only the first car body is in light blue/light grey, the other end car shows the yellow colors of the former Bernina Bahn (BB), which was also taken over by the Rhaetian Railway around the same time. The middle car body of the "Allegra" has the dark green/cream color scheme that was common on the Rhaetian Railway at that time. The "Allegra" in this new paint scheme is called "Ahnenzug" (ancestor train) by the RhB.
