On my way home one night in January, I decided to go home following some back roads just to see if I can catch a train. I figured it was going to be too dark to get a picture, but it's still good to see trains running. Just as I made the grade crossing, I noticed a headlight coming very fast. Just enough time to grab my camera, check settings and click off a few shots. This was the result.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
