In the early 90s, my mother and I made a lot of trips to Galesburg for railroad days. It was some of the 1st places we went and seen major train action. The BNSF merger would make Galesburg the hub it is today. The BNSF existed by December 1995, and everything would change in this photo, but in early 1996, things were still the same.
A good-looking Whiteface SD40 led this grain train out of Galesburg bound for Creston and points west in January 1996.
