Philly Skyline Sunset. Evening was descending upon the Market-Frankford Line (L1) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday, April 14, 2024 when SEPTA M-4 1172 (AdTranz, 1997-1999) approached the Allegheny Station. Many of these cars have already had repairs for structural fatigue, and few months ago, SEPTA released the M-5 Technical Specifications and will be working with STV to replace these cars ahead of the 15-year older Broad Street Line fleet. SEPTA has also signed a contract with Alstom to replace its Kawasaki LRVs, so look for a lot of changes to mass transit in the City of Brotherly Love in the future.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
