NYC Progress. On the night of Saturday, August 24, 2024, the museum held events all day specifically for photographers. After dark, museum volunteers set up a number of scenes across the rail yard that were lighted with flashes for photographers to capture. This included the first views of the re-painted body of New York Central S-1 100, which was brought to the museum earlier this year and has seen a tremendous amount of work towards stabilization and ultimately restoration. Also included was the newest addition to the museum, Amtrak AEM-7 917, which only arrived a few short months ago. While this was the first organized night shoot in over a decade to honor the 1994 creation of the organization. The museum plans to hold more events for photographers in the future.
