Steam Under Wire. On Sunday, September 19, 2021, Ventura County 2 (2-6-2, Baldwin, 1922) crosses Broadway, one of several marked and controlled crossings on the Southern California Railway Museum grounds in Perris, California. After running hourly steam powered trips, it is ready to be put back in its barn. The engine was removed from service for its FRA mandated life cycle inspection and maintenance shortly afterwards, and is presently being rebuilt.
