A once in a life time experiance with a locomotive from each of the operators that currently traverse the Trans Australian Railway occured on Saturday September 14th 2012 when a special passanger train was organized to operate from Adelaide to Port Augusta to commemerate the offical start of construction at Port Augusta on September 14th 1912. The locomotives NR18 representing Great Southern Rail, GWU006 Genesse & Wyoming Australia, G512 Chicago Freight Car Leasing Australia, CSR004 SCT Logistics, 6022 QR National and 9305 Pacific National, are seen on the return service to Adelaide 6XA8 as they approach Port Pirie.
