| As the days heat is surrendered to the night sky a cool breeze over takes the quiet plains of Tehachapi's eastern slope just above Mojave. Suddenly life comes to the old SP era signal bridge at MP 377, heralding the arrival of a eastbound. Soon enough the quiet air is filled with the sound of whining brakes and the classic rhythm of steel wheels on rail as an intermodal train drifts down towards Mojave. Soon quiet returns to the desert and with its job once again successfully completed the signal bridges goes dark, awaiting its next call to duty. |
