Over Labor Day Weekend, the Illinois Railway Museum held a two night photo sessions raising almost $3,000. South Shore 803 was the main attraction the first night with the DD40 taking the cake on the second night. Thanks to all that participated, we hope to do it again! The South Shore referred to their 3 as the "800 Class" while the Milwaukee Road referred to their 12 as "Little Joe" and classified them as EF-4 and EP-4 (for the two passenger motors). The other 5 of the 20 built were sent down to an operation in Brazil which lasted until 1999. Today, five of these GE 2-D+D-2 electric locomotives exist.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
