Passing the old swing bridge. VIA 37 is 5 minutes out of Montreal's Central Station with VIA 907 leading as it passes the old CN swing bridge which freights used to use to access the port of Montreal. As double-stack trains did not clear that route, it has been out of use for about 20 years. A sign familiar to Montrealers is partly visible in the top right of this photo - "Farine Five Roses" (AKA Five Roses Flour). |
