Here about six years after the Rockhill Trolley Museum acquired her is the SEPTA Liberty Liner "Independence Hall." One half of the magnificent Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee fleet of Electroliners, this high speed, 90 MPH MU set was the highest flowering of interurban design in the the United States. Running on the North Shore from 1941 to 1963 and on SEPTA from then until 1976, the pair were retired again but this time quickly snatched up by two museums, the Illinois Railway Museum and the Rockhill Trolley Museum in the eponymous town in Pennsylvania. Ironically, the pair have been in preservation longer than active service for either company!
