After running from New Orleans as L&N 414, this run-through train will shortly be on the rails of the West Point Route, where it will operate as train 214 to Atlanta. This was in the early days of WP/L&N/SCL/CRR moving from coordinated operations to unified operations. The SCL (ex-ACL) line to Waycross is on the left of the L&N, with the WofA Selma line and the ICG (ex-GM&O) line to Artesia, MS on the right beyond the tower.
Photos taken in the Deep South--primarily Alabama and Georgia--from the 1970s to the early 2000s. Featured railroads include the ICG, the West Point Route, SCL, Southern, Frisco, and even KCS.
