Hartwell Railroad crews have tied down for the night at the iconic Lavonia Depot, which is behind me, after making a quick run from Toccoa, Georgia where they retrieved cars from Norfolk Southern via the Piedmont Division. This was for sure the longest train I've ever seen Hartwell RR haul, thus explaining the four locomotive consist. EMD SD38 number 654 is a long way from it's northern home, but it's nice to see it earning it's keep leading long freight trains!
