V&T #29 leads a freight out of the west portal of Tunnel Number 2. The tunnel was originally constructed in 1869 and at 568', it is the longest of 6 tunnels on the V&T between Carson City and Virginia City, NV. It became unstable in the 40's, was dynamited shut in 1970 but restoration efforts saw trains once again running through the tunnel in 2007, all the way south to Mound House, where the line's current terminal is located.
