Portrait of a big Mike. Charging south toward the crossing at Red Cedar Road in tiny Burnett, WI, SOO 1003 shows off her nicely proportioned form and ultra-shiny boiler jacket for the cameras in darn near perfect light. The "Ten-Oh-Three" is a 130 ton Alco Product, built in 1913 for the Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railway ("Soo Line"), which she served for 41 years. Today, she is immaculately maintained by the Steam Locomotive Heritage Association and is housed at the Wisconsin Auto Museum in Hartford, WI.
