Checking in with East Side Access, we see the state of progress at the north end of the west cavern. Long Island Railroad trains will run on the 8 tracks here, with each cavern containing 4 tracks and 2 platforms. It is expected that ridership may shift so such an extreme extent that up to 2/3 of LIRR commuters coming into Manhattan will be using this connection rather to Grand Central Terminal rather than going to Penn Station.
