You think you’re the only fast horse in these parts?
Waiting for the return of Norfolk & Western 611 from Lynchburg, I set up by a small horse farm just west of Webster, Virginia. I framed a shot with two horses standing in a pasture in the foreground. The horses were fine until the 611’s steamboat whistle blew for the crossing at Webster. The older one retreated to his shed to hide, while the younger one started running in circles. While my planned shot only had an iron horse, I did manage to capture one image that included the flesh-and-blood variety.
