It is not too unusual for Amtrak to roundup slow moving coal trains on the Ottumwa Sub east of Creston. Back old days they had to do it most times between Halpin and Ottumwa due to the lack of CTC xovers. With the State of Iowa helping out, a few sets of xovers were put in east of Creston, in this mainly ABS territory, to help expedite Amtraks.
On my couple trips lately, I see Amtrak normally rides main 2, and so does the traffic behind them east of Fairfleid, but today stuff is running left-handed behind Amtrak out of CP 250. So that works out at this sag west of Lockridge with a load bound for Havana, IL.
