New Jersey Transit operated Metro North WOH (West of Hudson) service Port Jervis - Hoboken train trundles over the Moodna Viaduct. Opened in 1909 by the Erie Railroad as part of a low grade freight by-bass, the Viaduct reaches 194' high and is 3,200' long. It is easily the visual highlight of any trip on this line. This morning though, passengers cannot see out the brightly lit cars and the show is all ours to see as the Moon overlooks it all.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
