Trundling along at 10 mph down the Santa Paula Branch, UP 1469 leads the Oxnard local past the 1887-built, original Southern Pacific Saticoy depot. Once a pound station that held a ticket office in its upper floor and a waiting room in the lower, the sound of a passing freight train lead by two powerful steam locomotives or perhaps a passenger train lead by a breath-taking GS-4 were all too common sights during this depots hay-day. Today, the only trains that trundle down this once vital line are local moves such as this and the occasional run of the Fillmore & Western Railway when its equipment comes down to Metrolink's Ventura depot.
