An old PRR platform lamp stands guard, one of the few surviving, as an Amtrak "Cities Sprinter" makes an appearance with a string of leased MARC cars in tow. SEPTA leased No. 619 from Amtrak, along with the MARC cars (and additional NJT equipment) while its Silverliner V's were being repaired after a fault with the equalizer bars of the trucks was discovered.
ACS-64's, or - American Cities Sprinters will become a common sight in 2018, albeit, with SEPTA livery, when the commuter agency receives the first of 13 on order (with an option for 5 more).
What likely will not be a common sight in 2018 will be the PRR platform lamps. Those not falling to the ground will likely be removed and sold, with some already having made their way to the Strasburg Rail Road.
