On the morning of June 30, 2017, Montana Rail Link’s Helena switch flies over Winston Hill between Louisville and Winston, Montana. The short local train has two cars for the lime plant at Townsend, Montana, and is led by venerable GP9 No. 109 and recently-repainted SD40-2XR (rebuilt SD40) No. 265. The Helena switch now works to Townsend which used to be served by the now discontinued 840 local out of Helena.
