Former Canadian National GMD F9B No. 6622 still hangs onto whats left of its heritage at Alamosa, Colorado, on August 31, 2013. Built in January 1957 for passenger service on CN, The unit went to VIA Rail and was painted in their current colors. After retirement in Canada, No. 6622 went to short lines Waccamaw Coast Line and Carolina Southern, where it was ironically repainted back to CN colors to match two other former CN F units on the roster. In 2012, No. 6622 was bought by San Luis & Rio Grande and moved to Alamosa, awaiting a possible rebuild should the need and money ever arise.
