RailPictures.Net Photo: RI 136 Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific (Rock Island) Alco FA-1m (EMD V16-567 powered) at Saint Paul, Minnesota by Ted Steinbrenner
There must not have been too much traffic on Kellogg Boulevard, as my father was able to record this going away photo of the Rock Island train from the previous upload (FA-1m 136, F7a 107, and Erie Lackawanna F3a 7064). He is now looking South towards the Mississippi River. The Rock Island train is swinging to the east side of the wye towards Pig's Eye Yard. The Great Northern roundhouse in the middle of the junction serviced passenger locomotives for the nearby St. Paul Union Depot, which is on the west side of the wye. In addition to the classic GN passenger power, note the St. Paul Union Depot 44-tonner used to switch the station. R.T. Steinbrenner Photo
Photographs where trains and people mix, weather it's street running, plant switching or carrying a unit grain train out of an elevator, it will be put here.
