Early morning at 06.53 AM on Ospizio Bernina, highest station of the Rhaetian Railway on 2252 meter a.s.l. The two bell apparatus are still operational and announce the next train, when it departed from Alp Grüm or Bernina Lagalb stations. In the past, every station in Switzerland had such bell apparatus, but they (nearly) all disappeared. By the way, the interlocking system (signals, switches etc.) of Ospizio is remote controlled from the dispatching center of the RhB in Landquart. Behind the left door the warm waiting room with ticket machine and information about timetable etc..Behind the door on the right is the station restaurant, ready for breakfast. During the night, a few centimeters of snow fell. Shovel and broom are ready to clear the platform. This is done by an employee of the RhB who lives and works here.
