In the late 1970s on SCL's former ACL main through the Carolinas, U36Bs powered all of Auto-Train's monsters, as well as most of SCL's UPS and other intermodal trains. On 'lesser' trains, there was much more variety, as shown here by a pair of early GE C-Cs about to pass the ACL/SCL/Amtrak North Charleston station.
Photos taken in the Deep South--primarily Alabama and Georgia--from the 1970s to the early 2000s. Featured railroads include the ICG, the West Point Route, SCL, Southern, Frisco, and even KCS.
