GM classics On August 18, 2005, BNSF’s Golden switch trundles eastbound along West 44th Avenue out of Golden, Colorado, and passes a stylish 1959 Cadillac parked in the lot of a local bar. Leading the local, BNSF No. 2800 was built as Chicago, Burlington & Quincy GP30 No. 973 in May of 1963, and was later rebuilt as a GP39M by Burlington Northern. The Caddy was built four or so years earlier. Both still retain classic lines produced by the styling department of General Motors.
