The iconic 4-8-4 steamlocomotive "Red Devil" class 26 # 3450 (part of the Transnet National Collection, now maintained and operated by the Ceres Raill Company) is tackling the heavy grade towards Nuy station on the line of the former New Cape Central Railway from Worcester to Robertson-Swellendam-Voorbai, with a 13 cars photo freight for FarRail Tours of Bernd Seiler. Clearly visible the double "Lempor" chimney. The Lempor ejector is a steam locomotive exhaust system developed by noted Argentine locomotive engineer Livio Dante Porta. The name is a combination of those of Maurice Lemaître, Belgian locomotive engineer, and Porta. This most powerful narrow gauge (Cape gauge 1067 mm or 3 Ft 6 inch) steamlocomotive was rebuilt from 1979 to 1981 by David Wardale from a class 25NC (Henschel/Germany 1953). The locomotive is operational again since summer 2018 after 14 years decommission.
