Next stop Alexandria? CSX 1776 (Spirit of Our Armed Forces, ES44-AH) was one of the main attractions at the 5th Annual Fire Truck Festival at the N.C. Transportation Museum. On June 20, 2019, a night photography session was offered for guests at the museum with this unit and other being posed around the property. Utilized for the museum’s higher capacity trips, ex-VRE 426 is originally CN&W Galley Car 7651 built by Pullman Standard in 1956, but evokes a memory of when these cars operated over the former RF&P.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
