Good timing allowed for a shot of Amtrak train 646 passing the Virginia Museum of Transportation's former Norfolk and Western Railroad J Class 611 (4-8-4) on Monday, October 28, 2019. Metroliner Cab car 9635 was built by Budd in the late 1960s, and is not that much younger than the J, but was the beginning of a new era of railroading while the J was the end of the previous.
