Spiders, Rust, and Grafitti
MPEX 57, an ex-MARC GP40WH-2 is seen rusting away in the Columbia dead line. This unit was retired from MARC service and sold off to MPI a few years ago and it was stored near a scrap metal facility in Columbia. For the past few years, 57 along with two other identical units have been sitting here abandoned, likely awaiting scrap. Over the years windows have been smashed, the locos have been looted for horns, bells, and numberboards, and nature has taken its toll. I'd venture to guess that these three units are broken beyond repair and will be scrapped on site.
