An Amtrak Acela rolls south along the NEC, having crested the grade between Folcroft and Glenolden, PA. The Pennsylvania Railroad was well known for building fills to elevate its line above city streets, but here, in the suburbs of south Philadelphia, they chose instead to run through cuts under the city streets.
