The Gallatin Rocket rips through a river curve with a neat set of clouds high above. Leading this train is the rarely shot MRL 250, THE MRL locomotive. On October 31st, 1987, on the eve of MRL ownership, "vandals" set a 3 unit consist up Bozeman Pass at full throttle, of which the BN #6377 was part. After reaching over 80 mph. the train finally buried itself into the earth at West End. Not originally part of the sale, the BN then sold the #6377 to the MRL where it was rebuilt as the #250. It would become, and remain, the only SD40-2 the MRL would own. 34 years later, still earning its keep.
