An outbound set of four SEPTA Silveriner IV's arrive at the Paoli Intermodal Transportation Center. In a seemingly shortsighted move, the two center express tracks have been abruptly terminated to make way for a new high level center island platform in between the now singled east and westbound tracks. While odd, it is a fact that (today), there are no freight trains on this part of the former Pennsylvania Railroad mainline between Philadelphia and Harrisburg - and, all passenger trains (both SEPTA & Amtrak) stop at this location. West of the island, the tracks wye becoming a three track ROW.
