Nickel Plate 2-8-4 No. 765 rounds a bend on the former DL&W entering Elmhurst Township, just shy of the well known and oft photographed signal bridge. The excursion, originating out of Steamtown, in Scranton, PA, is bound for the Delaware Water Gap.
The Van Swearingen Brothers standarized freight power for their railroads with nearly identical 2-8-4 Berkshires. Two of these engines are still in excursion service.
