Though not a classic mixed freight like from the pages of Lucius Beebe's classic book Mixed Train Daily, it is a reminder of those times. This train is also a sad one as the Fillmore and Western has run its last trains and pieces of the roster are being sold. In the consist GP35 no.3501 is moving to the Santa Maria Valley Railroad, also Southern Pacific Business Cars Los Angeles and Houston and a Santa Fe Hi Level coach are moving to a destination unknown to me at this time. The hoppers are empty's from a plastics plant in Santa Paula. Time will tell if the Railroad will be put into some type of service going forward.
