Just Across the Water.
An NJT caboose sits with other preserved equipment at Communipaw Terminal, the New York terminal of the former Central Railroad of New Jersey, on the Jersey shore of the Hudson River. Passengers riding the CNJ to/from New York would have to transfer to/from a ferry here for service into Manhattan. The ferry slips have long since been removed, and the trainshed is in dangerously poor condition, but the terminal building itself has been beautifully restored and preserved. It now houses ticket offices for ferries to the Statue of Liberty.
