On April 26, 1987, a pair of Metra commuter trains, with locomotives still in RTA colors, sit alongside some Chicago & North Western power at Harvard, Illinois. The brick factory in the background was the Hunt, Helm, Ferris & Co. that manufactured products to streamline farm work. When farmers started referring to the company’s merchandise as the “star” line of farmstead equipment, they renamed the corporation Starline in 1931.
