It was a fitting but unusually chilly night in North Carolina during the Polar Express runs this season. Thankfully, there was plenty of coal in the bucket for the stove. The Conductor and NCTM Trainmaster, Lane Baker, stokes the fire in his caboose keeping things nice and toasty. It was a nice touch having the air filled with the smell of coal smoke as well as a warm spot to find refuge in between runs.
