Southbound over Fisheating Creek. Less than a mile south of the little town of Palmdale, Florida, US Sugar's ALCO Pacific charges southbound across the timber trestle at Fisheating Creek, headed for Moore Haven, and her next water stop. On this second day of the 2022 Trains Magazine Charter, the 148 is hauling a passenger train consisting of a dining car, open-air baggage express and the private car "Georgia." Ultimately, US Sugar plans to have a complete train set, including several coaches, which will match the dinning car you see right behind the locomotive in this photo. The open-air baggage express will serve as an observation car, and the Georgia, which is leased, will typically be used only on special trains. On this photo charter, the Georgia came along because she has multiple restrooms, whereas the other cars currently do not. Needless to say, it was quite a privilege for most of the photographers to get a chance to ride on this car, which has been used in three Presidential campaigns over the past 20 years.
