Maritime Railroading.
There's lots to be seen at NYNJ Rail's 65th St Yard on a weekday morning. The harbor is abuzz with ship traffic, ferries, and numerous moored vessels, and the yard is full - well, as full as it gets - of railcars waiting to board their own ferry. Here we see the tug Marjorie B. McAllister arriving at the yard and coming into position to dock at the float bridge while the train crew in locomotive 5101 (KLW SE10B, 2015) awaits with their first cut of cars to be loaded on the ferry. Also of interest at far left is a string of 6 NYC Subway R32 cars waiting to be loaded, starting their journey from New York to Ohio for scrapping.
