After meeting the northbound at Wildwood, CSX M587-24 (Louisville,KY-Greenwood,SC) is finally underway at dusk. The 5,785ft long loaded vehicle train was slowly easing pass Wauhatchie as the crew is preparing to bring the short train to a safe stop at Lookout to meet one that is entering the Wauhatchie Yard lead. It's 2022, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but gosh it's good to see a dash 9 on CSX again! With freight traffic starting to make a up climb, and the head brass of the company is taking harsh criticism on the PSR practice. CSX had to force their hand and, pull a few older equipment out of storage to attempt to reduce the dwell time on cars that has been sitting in terminal. Nevertheless, it feels like the mid 2000s and, 2010s all over again, even if it's just for a brief moment. The last time I got a picture of this motor, is when it was assigned to Q154 back in January of 2020 at this same location.
