2-6-0 T cogwheel steamlocomotive HG 3/4 # 1 of the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke on the turntable of the depot in Realp. The locomotive arrived with train 134 from Gletsch before and will pull train 157 to Gletsch later. This day, due to high wild fire risk, the trains between Gletsch and Oberwald and vice versa were pulled by diesellocomotive HGm 4/4 # 61, rented from the Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn. The locomotive was built in 1913 by the SLM Winterthur for the Brigue-Furka-Disentis (BFD) railway and ran for the successor Furka-Oberalp-Bahn (FO) from 1926. When the line was electrified, the locomotive was sold to Indochina (later Vietnam) in 1947, together with sisters # 2, # 8 and # 9. Brought back to Switzerland in 1990. Since 1993 operational for the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke after a large revision in Meiningen/Germany. Now a major overhaul is needed and the locomotive will run for the last time for a few years in September this year. The locomotive will undergo a major overhaul at the DFB workshop in Uzwil.
