Oldest and Newest.
NJ Transit GP40PH-2B no. 4209 (EMD, 1965-1969) and ALP-45A no. 4537 (Bombardier, 2021-present) are seen passing south (railroad east) of Secaucus Junction station. The GP40PH-2B's were built for Penn Central prior to the existence of NJ Transit and are some of the oldest locomotives in the railroad's fleet, now in their 57th year of service! On the other hand the ALP-45A's are the railroad's newest locomotives, the oldest of which have been in service for less than two years!
